- ~When I bought my Intel SatisFAXtion fax/modem board, they didn't call it
- ~"Classic"... but now I think that "Classic" is what Intel is calling
- ~it... as they gradually back off from much support!
-
- ~I have already installed one hardware upgrade which included RAM to 640K
- ~and another chip.
-
- ~Question - Does anyone know if there is a hardware upgrade that will
- ~improve the modem to something faster than 2,400 baud?
- ==================================
-
- I have no idea 'which one you have' but 2,400 baud sounds awful slow for a
- 400 or 500 model, you must be using the old 100. I run the 400/internal 14.4
- model at 115,200 bps with 'zero problems'. Uses the standard issue 512 Kb
- RAM and 80186 CPU for faxing.
- This modem is now PureData, no longer Intel. If you have the 400 model you
- might set S31=11 for a trial run. Then return to the S31=0 default setting.
